Best of New England Book Show Awards
We’re excited to have printed two books that won “Best of Category” awards at this year’s 57th annual New England Book Show. The Illustrated History of the Union Boat Club won the “Best Coffee Table Book” division and William Buffett’s Grubbed Stumps, Fixed Fence, Pa to Town won the “General Trade, Illustrated” division. Both books were designed by Rick Rawlins. We also were finalists in the General Trade, Illustrated category for A Lakota War Book from the Little Bighorn, designed by Vern Associates.

2014 PINE Awards of Excellence
We’re excited to have won awards for the following projects at the Printing Industry of New England’s 7th annual Awards of Excellence.
Best of Show – Vintage Magazine. “We have never seen one entry with this many combined processes …. demonstrates everything possible …. on top of the amazing mechanical binding with multiple string colors. The printing is phenomenal.”
We also received Pinnacle Awards for the following categories / projects
Hardcover Books – “Grubbed Stumps”
Brochures – Lesley University “Checklist”
Magazine – Vintage Magazine
As well as Awards of Recognition in the hardcover book category and catalog category; and finally an award of Merit in the catalog category.

Congratulations to Richard Schmid
Plein Air Magazine has announced that it will present Richard Schmid with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Plein Air Convention this coming April. Molly Schmid will receive it on his behalf and also do a special presentation of his work. We are honored to be the printer of Richard’s many books and prints and we send him our congratulations and best wishes.

We’re excited to share some photos of the shop by Alison Palizzolo. Alison works in print production at the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth and took the pictures while here on a press OK recently. There are many sides to printing and Alison really captured the physicality of our business.
