We are pleased to have completed our work as a beta site for Idealliance’s new XCMYK expanded gamut color profile. We were chosen for this work because of Idealliance’s confidence in our ability to print accurate, repeatable press sheets using stochastic screening. The new color profile will reflect the broader range of colors achievable on press through stochastic printing and when complete will be used by those printers with the most demanding color requirements.

Our new Komori is now printing beautiful work. The UV ink gamut is greater and as the sheets are dry when they reach the delivery, the press is far more efficient.
The most striking difference is the exceptional results on uncoated paper. The richness and depth of images rival coated printing.

J.A. Miara riggers out of Wilmington, MA are here installing our new press. They are experts at moving heavy loads; this press weighs 101,840 lbs. The dolly moving the parts in can “only” lift 42 tons.
The truck arrived on Monday; by the end of Tuesday everything is in place. Here’s the press with one unit still suspended.
And, the inside of the press is shown below. It will take two more weeks to complete the wiring and hoses.

We are pleased to have four winning entries in the 2016 Printing Industries of America “Premier Print Awards” competition. The Van Degna photo book shown below, produced using our true digital tritone process, won the “Best of Category” for digital printing.
We also won two Special Innovations Award (for Bunny Harvey and The Game World of Jason Rohrer) as well as a certificate of Merit in the diecut category.
The Premier Print Awards began in 1950 and is the largest international print competition, attracting thousands of entries from every continent. Puritan Capital was the only New England printer to win the highest award level.
